  1. I was from the same home town as Mary Ellen Cunha, and in fact she and my brother dated in high school. She was a wonderful person and I was saddened to hear of her passing. I was one of the original owners of the Elephant Walk Bar and some of your information about the naming of the bar and Sylvester, etc is not correct.

    1. David, I’d love to chat with you at some point by email or phone if you’re interested. Always looking to fill in gaps, correct errors, and make improvements. We could do a formal interview if you want or I can let you write something for the site if you’d prefer. Let me know what you would like. Thank you!

  2. Hello. The contact form is not working on your “contact us” page. Really like this history site.

I’m a former longtime Castro resident, recently moved to Palm Springs. I’ve been a Castro photographer and videographer and have lots of material, I want to share with the world before my time is up I’m 76. I have tons of Castro St. images and the original webmaster of WebCastro.

I also published my pre-stonewall autobiography “San Francisco’s Native Sissy Son” and most recently 4 decades of my Pride photography, “Capturing Our Diversity.”

If you might be interested, let me know.

    Best,
    Ron Williams
